About: Burdock is a native of Europe and Asia, but can easily be found in temperate areas of North America. It is the long taproot of the Burdock that is used as a food in some cultures (aka Gobo root). It is this same root that is used in preparing a vinegar or alcohol extract that has an influence on the digestive system. Both moistening and astringent, mildly bitter and pungent, Burdock root nourishes and supports a healthy liver and skin, along with the lymphatic, urinary and respiratory systems.
