Bart-1 Support Formula
About: This formula is based on the research Stephen Harrod Buhner has compiled and shared in his book Healing Lyme Disease Coinfections, including herbs that could possibly address the impact of the tick-borne coinfection Bartonella henselae. Additional support for the immune, circulatory and endocrine systems while using this formula is offered by the herbs in our Bart 2 Support Formula.
Contains: Cryptolepis (sanguinolenta), Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum), Baikal Skullcap (Scutellaria baicalensis), Houttuynia (cordata), & Sida (acuta) in certified organic non-GMO cane alcohol, pure Adirondack water and Self-Heal Flower Essence.
Herb Profiles:
Cryptolepis sanguinolenta: The alkaloid cryptolepine found in this golden root appears to be the active constituent that provides support for those dealing with persistent pathogens. The extract of Cryptolepis supports the immune system while promoting balance and resilience, assists in the body response to inflammation while addressing the discomfort and challenges of certain tic-related conditions.
Japanese knotweed: Japanese Knotweed root, a member of the Buckwheat family, has many benefits, some of which are due to its high level of resveratrol which offers cardio-vascular support, including protection of the blood vessels. Japanese knotweed root may also support brain and immune function, protect the body from endotoxins and address the inflammatory process.
Baikal skullcap: A potent ally, Baikal skullcap root is considered a broad-spectrum support for hot, damp conditions with its qualities being bitter, astringent, cold and dry. This marvelous root supports the nervous, respiratory, cardio-vascular, and gastro-intestinal systems for acute or chronic situations, along with supporting a sense of calm.
Houttuynia cordata: Houtuynnia leaf is considered pungent in taste, cooling in temperature and has an astringent nature. It assists in the body response to inflammation and cytokine cascade that may occur with tick-borne pathogens, along with addressing possible swelling.
Sida acuta: Sida acuta leaf is considered sweet and cooling. The leaves prepared as tea or extract have a history of supporting the circulatory, respiratory, reproductive, nervous, and urinary systems along with strengthening and supporting the body systems overall. Sida also assists in the body response to irritation and inflammation, especially when heat is involved.
Safety considerations: Avoid use in pregnancy and breastfeeding. (Sida acuta is used in traditional medicine to prevent pregnancy.) It should be used with caution in Hypertension, Hyperthyroid and Hypoglycemia. Also, do not use in deficient cold syndrome.
