About: Cleavers is best used fresh, so we prepare our extract soon after harvesting. Cleavers is known as an edible plant and is considered a mild herb overall.  It is a favorite among herbalists for tending the waters within us, assisting the body in its wise ways of moving lymph and other inner fluids. Cleavers soothes, cools, softens, restores and supports the skin, liver, urinary tract and lymphatic system in any season when heat is present.

We gather Cleavers on the shaded banks near creeks on clear spring days. They thrive at the edges of young woodlands, their twining slender and flexible stems reaching out to wander up trees, other companion plants and stone walls. Their sticky aspect makes me think of Velcro; when gathering, the plant sticks to our hands and clothes, making us chuckle as we toss pieces onto each other’s shirts, which will stay put until removed!

Recommended Dosage: 10-30  drops, 3 times per day in juice or water. *Please note our recommended dosage may differ from other sources.
