Botanical name: Sida acuta

Part used: Dry Leaf

Ingredients: Dry Sida leaf in organic Non-GMO Vegetable Glycerin

Percentage of organic non-GMO glycerin used: 55-60%

Ratio plant to menstruum: 1:5

Safety considerations: Sida acuta is used in traditional medicine to prevent pregnancy. It should also be used with caution in Hypertension, Hyperthyroid and Hypoglycemia. Avoid with pregnancy. Be sure to work with a knowledgeable health practitioner who can guide you.

Note: We are happy to have found a knowledgeable wild-crafter in Florida who is gathering this specific species of Sida in clean, unpolluted fields during the plant’s optimum growing season. The leaves are then dried and finally shipped to us for preparation of the extract. We are also experimenting with growing it as an annual in our northeast gardens. Currently, 100% of the Sida we process comes from Florida.

About: Sida (aka Wireweed) originally a native of Mexico and Central America that has spread around the world, may be considered an invasive and troublesome weed, but it has many qualities and actions that we can benefit from. The leaves of Sida acuta exhibit antimicrobial activity on a variety of human infectious agents, along with strong anti-malarial activity. Sida has been shown to increase glutathione levels in the blood, increase red blood cell numbers, and act as an antibacterial, hematotonic, hematoregnerator, hematoprotectant, hepato-protective and mild anti-oxidant.

Recommended Dosage: 30-40 drops OR 1/4 tsp, 3 times per day in juice or water. Children under 12 take half the adult dosage. *Please note our recommended dosage may differ from other sources.
