Woodland Essence arose from the hearts of two people who love the wild places and the magic, healing and beauty found there. In their wanderings and studies of the trees, these two developed a deep appreciation of the forests of the Northeast where the elements weave a path of peace and well-being in connection to nature. At home in the woods, Don Babineau guides Woodland Essence with clear vision and continued respect for the natural world, of which each of us are a part. As a practicing herbalist, Kate Gilday shares the herbs and flowers that grow in her gardens, along with those living in the local wetlands, fields and woodlands. As a young mother, she began creating a line of herb based body care products and flower essences that contain vibrant plants and other organic ingredients. Over the years this grew into Woodland Essence’s current offerings. It has been a most wonderful journey!
Our gardens continue to nourish and inspire, with the ongoing addition of specific herbs that address new health challenges. As Woodland Essence has grown, fresh and freshly dried herbs have also been sourced from other thriving organic gardens/ companies or wild-crafted ethically in their natural habitats. As special needs arrive in the health care community, we continue to learn the value and importance of certain herbs and try our best to make them available~ seeking to bring people and plants together, tending to one’s health, spirit and well-being.
The Woodland Essence team is a heart-centered circle of people living in the southern Adirondacks; caring herbalists, devoted gardeners, loving parents, gifted artists, nature-lovers, talented woodworkers, craftspeople and more, who care for and about the environment, the plant community and each person who calls. Our friendly customer service team is here for you- whether you are calling to place an order, emailing a concern, checking on quality, or navigating our website. Since 1995 Woodland Essence has offered hope in a bottle, whether it be an herbal extract, flower essence or other body care product. Hope and light from the plants and this land, kindness and caring from each of us here at Woodland Essence.
